CARLA SANTOS SHAMBERG (Executive Producer)
met Erin Brockovich four years ago and not only decided right away that her story would make a great movie, she immediately imagined Julia Roberts in the role.
"Ever since I started at Jersey Films," Ms. Santos Shamberg says, "I had been looking for the right idea to produce. Erin's story is inspirational. I knew I had to get it made. We need new women's role models in films. Roles which are strong, smart intuitive, warm and powerful; qualities which women possess, but so rarely hit the big screen. Julia Roberts is the ideal actress for the lead because she exudes all of those characteristics."
Santos Shamberg is currently Vice President of Special Projects at Jersey, where she works on original story ideas. Previously, she was the associate producer on Jersey Films' Feeling Minnesota. Between 1993 and 1996, she was Vice President of Operations at Jersey Films and prior to that was an assistant to the producer on Jersey's 8 Seconds (1992).
Before moving to Los Angeles in 1992, Ms. Santos Shamberg worked in the New York theater and in a variety of non-entertainment businesses.
As Ms. Santos Shamberg says, "I look forward to creating characters and stories that inspire and shake up our idea of who, what and where we are."
