Clarissa Weirick

General Counsel Universal Filmed Entertainment Group

Clarissa Weirick is General Counsel for the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group. In this role, she oversees legal matters for the worldwide operations of the motion picture group, including its global theatrical, home entertainment and consumer products businesses, Fandango and DreamWorks Animation.  She also works closely with the NBCUniversal corporate legal team on litigation, compliance, corporate transactions and other legal matters.

Prior to that, Weirick spent eighteen years at Warner Bros. in various legal roles, including most recently as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, overseeing legal matters for Warner Home Video, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.  In that role, she had responsibility for all legal activities including licensing, sales, production and acquisitions, as well as daily operational matters relating to the distribution of the studio’s movies, television shows and interactive video games in physical and digital formats on a worldwide basis. Prior to that, she served as General Counsel of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and as Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for the Corporate Business Development and Strategy group at WB.

She also worked at Fidelity Federal Bank from 1993 to 1997 as Vice President and Counsel, and has held associate positions with the law firms Armstrong & Hirsch and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. 

Weirick earned her law degree from UCLA School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.  She resides in La Canada with her husband and three children.
