Lissa Freed is Head of HR & Culture for NBCUniversal Studio Group responsible for initiatives that support the people and culture behind the creation, production, marketing and distribution of NBCUniversal’s content globally. With over 30 years of experience in human resources and organizational development, Lissa is passionate about fostering vibrant company cultures that celebrate the unique voices and perspectives of individuals, while promoting continuous learning that strengthens their adaptability and resilience as the workforce evolves.

In this role, Lissa and her team support the studios, productions and functional teams that span the globe, driving strategies that enable meaningful engagement, empowers diversity, equity and inclusivity, and optimizes performance through employee development and wellbeing. With her strategic leadership, Lissa has been instrumental in shaping a work environment at Universal that is creative, collaborative and respectful.

Lissa spent five years with Sony Pictures Entertainment as Senior Vice President of People and Organization prior to joining Universal in 2015. At Sony, she was responsible for the talent agenda and organizational development of the motion picture group including theatrical and home entertainment global operations. Her extensive experience in human resources management also includes two years with Activision Blizzard beginning in 2008 as Vice President of Human Resources, where she led a human resources team for the company’s largest operating group, Activision Publishing. Prior to Activision Blizzard, she held a variety of human resources roles at Mattel and ran her own contingent staffing company.

Lissa received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from California Coast University and a certificate in Human Capital and Effective Organizations from the USC Marshall School of Business.
