Chief Financial Officer UNIVERSAL FILMED ENTERTAINMENT GROUP

Rowan Conn is Chief Financial Officer for the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group. He is responsible for overseeing the financial and operational performance of all global film operations including Universal Pictures, Universal Pictures International, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Brand Development, Fandango and DreamWorks Animation. 

Prior to joining the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group in 2014, Conn served as Chief Financial Officer for NBCUniversal International, overseeing the various international divisions following the acquisition by Comcast. Beginning in 2007, he was Chief Financial Officer for Universal Pictures International (UPI) where he was responsible for the financial operations of the division’s 10 territories. In just two years, UPI’s international box office doubled. Conn then became Chief Financial Officer for Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) in 2009, NBCUniversal’s international theatrical distribution and home entertainment businesses. In this capacity, he integrated UPI’s and UPIE’s finance teams together to maximize resources, simplify organizational structure and improve communications across the finance divisions both internationally and with headquarters in London. 

When Conn joined UPI as Vice President of Finance in 2004, he was pivotal in the transition from its United International Pictures (UIP) joint venture with Paramount Pictures to Universal’s own direct distribution theatrical business. He acted as project leader for the transition and established a finance division for the company’s London headquarters, as well as its initial ten operating companies. 

Before joining Universal, Conn spent 10 years as a finance executive, including stints at Sony and News Corp.

Conn is a Chartered Accountant. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Management from Reading University. He resides in Los Angeles.
