Veronika Kwan Vandenberg

Veronika Kwan Vandenberg is President of Distribution for Universal Pictures International (UPI). As President, Kwan Vandenberg manages UPI’s operating companies, as well as its independent partners and sales agents. She is responsible for overseeing Universal’s standalone international distribution operations and the print-servicing/post-production adaption and delivery of the company’s international releases.

Prior to joining Universal, Kwan Vandenberg served as President, International Distribution and Growth Initiatives at Warner Bros. In this role, she had oversight of international theatrical distribution activities, including local productions and a special focus on theatrical strategy and partnerships in China. She also collaborated on the global alignment of business and technology initiatives, in addition to building partnerships to support new in-theater experiences. Prior to that role, Kwan Vandenberg was President, Worldwide Distribution, Warner Bros., where she was instrumental in helping realign the international and domestic distribution divisions. She also served as President of International Distribution for 15 years, overseeing all international sales and distribution matters.

Through her tenure with Warner Bros., Kwan Vandenberg oversaw the studio’s biggest years at the box office, and distributed more than 350 titles (including local-language films), amassing more than $40 billion in box office receipts. She was involved in managing many of Warner Bros. iconic film series including the eight Harry Potter films, Fantastic Beasts, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit, and The Matrix trilogy, among others. Kwan Vandenberg joined Warner Bros in 1990 and rose through the ranks to become one of the youngest presidents at the studio in 2000. Prior to Warner Bros., she worked in international marketing for Lorimar Film Entertainment.

A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Kwan Vandenberg earned her MBA from Loyola Marymount University, whereupon she worked as a research consultant for the German American Chamber of Commerce and published several articles in the German American Business Review.

Kwan Vandenberg currently resides in Los Angeles.
